Birmingham Bloggers Meetup 2

The Birmingham Bloggers Meetup events look set for great things. Last night was really good fun spent chatting to likeminded blogging types about all manner of exciting ideas. And for once I totally failed to get any photos because I was just too busy chatting. What a lovely evening! Thanks again to Nick Booth for organising it - I'm hoping this will become something of a monthly fixture. I was expecting it to be a little bit geeky and introverted but it was actually the complete opposite - mainly men, which is always a shame, but the 'geek ranking' wasn't as high as I thought it would be and everyone was chatting away until midnight. I turned up a bit late, and was pleased to see that everyone had split up into small conversations rather than having some kind of round-the-table debate. A welcome to new bloggers Emily had the not-uncommon experience of starting a blog and then having very few comments back from the blogging community. Lots of hits, just mostly lurkers. I think it would be nice if the next time any of us finds a new blog has been launched, we tag it: hellobirmingham ...in a blog post/delicious and then a few of us could pop over and leave a 'hi' in the comments. I think that would be a nice way of connecting to other people and also to get rid of the 'clique' myth that a few people have muttered to me about in private. What do you say? To start things off, here's a little animation based on a snip of audio I grabbed last night. Say hellooo..!
